Level A
General Targets
I can point to the words in a book as I read (crisply)
I can search for and use information in pictures
Targets about Solving Words
I can say a word and predict it first letter before locating it in a book
I can say a word slowly to hear and identify the first sound and connect it to a letter
I can locate easy high frequency words in book
I can read 10 sight words
I use the structure of the sentence to help me figure out a word
I can reread the sentence to problem solve, self-correct or confirm with help

I can remember what the story is about during reading
I can understand the end of the book
