General Targets
I can read books with simple dialogue
Targets about Solving Words
I can read the Pre-Primer Words
I can recognize 10 or more sight words quickly within a book
I can locate the first and last letters of words in continuous text
I can use letter sound information along with meaning and language structure to solve words
I can make connections between words by letters, sounds, or spelling patterns
I can cross-check one kind of information against another to monitor and self-correct
I can reread the sentence to problem solve, self-correct or confirm with help
Targets about Summarizing
I can remember to use details when discussing a story after reading
I can understand and identify a simple sequence of events in a story
